Something you hear a lot:

The church is full of people that don't act like they are supposed to. There are people that don't even seem like they are saved and following Jesus.

Why would I want to listen to anything that is preached there? I don't know if that is a church I want to go to. On top of that, there are hypocrites in the church too.

None of us are perfect, but lets see what the Bible says about the people that are not following Jesus and just claim they are. You always get some of those in churches even so you don't really want them.

Lets read:

MT 13:24 Jesus told them another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. 25 But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. 26 When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared.

This happens everywhere. All you have to look at is the field's farmer's plant. There are always weeds mixed in no matter how much fertilizer is used.

MT 13:27 "The owner's servants came to him and said, `Sir, didn't you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?'

That is a good question. Weeds always seem to grow easier then anything else and no matter how hard you try they are always there.

MT 13:28 " `An enemy did this,' he replied. "The servants asked him, `Do you want us to go and pull them up?'

Our enemy sows weeds in the church just like the enemy sowed weeds in this parable. He doesn't like churches. He wants to mess them up. So just like in a field the church ends up with people that probably shouldn't be there.

Should you go pull those weeds? What does the Bible say?

MT 13:29 " `No,' he answered, `because while you are pulling the weeds, you may root up the wheat with them.

You don't always want to pull them, because it will damage the good wheat. You will trample it trying to get at the weeds.

In other words, it does more harm then good. Here is what the Bible says:

30 Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.' "

In other words, just like in this parable, God will sort things out at the end. Only the "wheat" will go to heaven the "weeds" will be burned.

What is my point?

Just because not everything may be the way it should be, don't use that for an excuse to say: I don't want to be around other Christians.

Don't try to go it alone. You need to learn somewhere. For every person that is there that shouldn't be there there are a whole bunch that are doing what they should be doing. You just have to give them a chance.
