What does the Bible say?

PS 48:9 Within your temple, O God, we meditate on your unfailing love.

PS 51:1 Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions.

PS 52:8 But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God's unfailing love forever and ever.

The psalmist writes in the scriptures that God's love is unfailing.

But does it apply to you?

God always loves you, no matter where you are. He loves all of us. But a lot of people are still separated from God and can't tell he loves them. Why is that? Even so he loves them there is a wall between them and God. What is this wall? You know how there are things your kids/parents do, that you cannot handle?

That is how God is with evil. See the next verse:

HAB 1:13 Your eyes are too pure to look on evil; you cannot tolerate wrong.

In other words even so he loves everyone, not everyone can benefit from his love, because he can't tolerate evil. It separates us from God.

You say: I am not evil. But what is evil? Evil is doing wrong. So do you ever do wrong? Well if you do, you fall into that category.

The good thing is that God doesn't want us separated from him. He wants to be able to show us his love.

So here is what he did. Someone had to pay for the evil that is being done. Just like in the courts today someone has to make it right. The problem was that no matter what we try to do to make it right it wasn't good enough to make it right.

So how did he get it paid? Jesus died for us.

RO 5:6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

How does that help us?

God gave us an out. We don't have to stay separated from him. All we have to do is accept the payment for our sins.

How do we accept this payment? Here is what the Bible says:

RO 10:9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

As you read above, you have to believe that Jesus paid the price and confess him as your savior and you will be saved. This applies to everyone. Not just the Jews or Greeks or whoever you may think. This is what it takes to knock down that wall between us and God.

Conclusion:

How do you know God loves you? You know it because God showed it by sending Jesus die in our place. You know it because he created a way for us to be with him forever. You know it because he promises it is for everyone. And you will know it because you are no longer separated from God he will be able to show you his love.

But why believe what God says?

Because the Bible says:

Heb 6:18….it is impossible for God to lie….
