What do you think about when you go to bed at night, are you at peace?

When you are really quiet and think about the future are you scared? How do you deal with tomorrow? Do you worry about it? To answer this correctly, you have to be totally honest with yourself. Spent some time getting quiet and think about this.

If you truly have no worries, you are at peace and everything is great, this message is probably not for you. But if there is uncertainty and worry, if there is no peace and you are possibly scared, then you should listen and read further.

Nobody has a perfect life. There are always problems of some kind; there is always something to worry about. This applies to people that believe in Jesus as their savior and people that don't.

If you are a Christian, you are very possibly under attack by the devil. There are temptations you are trying to deal with. There are failures the devil is trying to get you to feel guilty about. This list could go on and on.

So if you don't believe in Jesus as your lord and Savior, you might say: There is no difference, you have trouble too, why should I listen?

The reason you should listen is this: Yes believers have troubles too, but they have one thing non-believers don't have, they can have help. They just don't always accept the help. What does Jesus say?

MT 11:28 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

Many believers don't follow this, but if they do, they can handle their problems much better.

You will notice that there are no restrictions, it applies to everyone. It says: all you who are weary and burdened, it doesn't say just some of you.

It says: Follow my lead, learn from me and you will find rest for your souls.

I will not beat you up, I am gentle and humble in heart. Just take my yoke upon you. In other words, just like two horses share the load under a yoke, Jesus wants us to share his yoke, not ours, because his burden is light.

It does not say that all our troubles will now be gone. It says partner with me, symbolized by the yoke, because my burden is light.

Jesus says in comparison to what you are going through, my burden is light. His burden? The burden of living for Jesus. Is that a burden? I don't believe I would even call this a burden.

Look at what comes with this. Living by his direction protects us, just read the following scriptures.

PS 124:8 Our help is in the name of the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.

PS 121:8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

PS 32:7 You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.

PS 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.

God will show us how to live our lives.

No, all the problems are not gone, but the problems are being dealt with and are not overwhelming anymore.

What is the conclusion?

When I quietly sit and contemplate, I know that all is well with my soul. I have inner peace. That's what is important. That is the difference when I am a Jesus following believer and partner with him. We all slip sometime and fail, but Jesus is always there to help us. That is something a non-believer cannot have.
