Another way you can say this: Is there right and wrong.

In this day and age the lines are becoming more blurred all the time. Everybody wants to have gray areas. A lot of people want to make up their own right and wrong. You always hear that it depends on how you interpret things.

So is there still black and white, as in right and wrong ?

I believe there is. Lets see:

The Bible says:

EX 23:2 "Do not follow the crowd in doing wrong. When you give testimony in a lawsuit, do not pervert justice by siding with the crowd, 3 and do not show favoritism to a poor man in his lawsuit.

When Solomon became King, this is what he asked:

1KI 3:9 So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong.

Job said this prayer:

Job 6:24 "Teach me, and I will be quiet; show me where I have been wrong.

Here are three examples from the Bible. If we go but what they say, it definitely shows there is a right and wrong. It also shows this right and wrong is not from us. This right and wrong is instituted by God.

So what does God say about this?

This is what God said to the Israelites:

ISA 1:15 When you spread out your hands in prayer, I will hide my eyes from you; even if you offer many prayers, I will not listen. Your hands are full of blood; ISA 1:16 wash and make yourselves clean. Take your evil deeds out of my sight! Stop doing wrong, ISA 1:17 learn to do right!

God told the Israelites if you don't learn to do right, I won't even listen to you. That is scary, since God is the same forever and ever. Why would he listen to us if we don't want to do right?

We are not talking about slipping up. Everybody makes mistakes and does wrong, that is why Jesus came and paid the price for us. This refers to always doing wrong and not caring about what is right or justifying wrong as right. It is extremely important to God that we try to do what is right.

This is not written to convict anyone, it is written to wake up those that may not know any different. Those of us that have been listening to the wrong influences and have been led astray. This is easy to do, but there is hope.

We get sucked in by the majority and then loose track of what is right.

So how do we know get back to what is right?

Here is what God said would happen in the end times:

HEB 8:10 This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

This is a promise. The end times started at the time of Jesus, so this promise is real today.

But what if we are not sure? What if we have been listening to the wrong people and now don't know what is right in our heart?

Go to the Bible. The Bible is "The Word of God", anything it says is correct. So if we don't know what is right or wrong, we can study the Bible and it will teach us. We will learn and this will condition us to where we will know in our heart what is right and what is wrong.

Conclusion:

Why is this so important?

It is not just so we get to go to heaven. Sure that is part of it.

It is how we can influence society around us. That's how we make sure our kids have a good tomorrow. If right and wrong get totally blurred, how will future generations know how to live? The world will just get worse and worse. The world will become a scary place to live in.

We need to make sure that our kids, their kids and their kids, etc will have a future.
